Hello

Haven't you heard about "OutLive" (or something)?
It looked like a decent game, altough it was somewhat like a clone of Starcraft.
Oh, and yeah, it was made by Brazilians.

Replying to your question/whatever, sorry but I cant help you. I have no clue how to use Open GL.

-- Ah, and what is "DigiPen"? If its the name of the University, where is it located? --

Before you can learn OpenGL, you must learn c or c++. I suggest you start here.

Digipen is a game programming college. I believe their focus is in console devolpment. They are located in Canada, and I think they just opened in Washington state also.

www.opengl.org is a great place to start.

In fact, You aren''t alone in Brazil, I am trying to make games too, but it''s very difficult, I''m planning to get out of here soon (I will graduate in computer science on this year). The market here is terryble to make games.

But there are brazilian games, outcast and Incidente em Varginha (em breve estarah saindo o 2) sao bons exemplos disso.

I have passed the last years programming games (trying to) on my weekends and vocations, ''cos I have to pay my college and live, so I have a job not in games stuff. It''s hard stuff, but if you really want to make games, go on.

Anyway, I have a new homepage with info about the project I''m working right now with a friend, it''s very bad for now, but you can check it:

Fell free to send me a mail, but first go study A LOT of C/C++ and algorithms, ok?

minha placa 3D é a Diamond Viper v550
se você puder me ajudar me da um toque...

Hi

Oh, I had never heard about DigiPen before *slaps self*.
That looks great... So bad I wouldnt probably be able to afford (you from Brazil know how hard is to pay stuff in dollars), and Im already enrolled (actually classes have just started yesterday) in an Engeneering course here in SP (Escola Politecnica da Universidade de Sao Paulo, EPUSP, or just Poli for short ). I''ll try to transfer to Computer Science, tho. But its damn hard to get in (50 spots to tons of ppl wanting to get in). I know a bit of C and am starting to learn Windows Programming (and DX stuff), but I dont have much time =/.

I dont know if you were asking that to me, Aron, but Im 18. I started with Basic, also, but not QBasic/whatever, the old Apple ][+ Basic, the one which you had to put the line numbers before the code as we didnt have (at least I didnt have) a text editor for Apple. Uhm, I think I had Magic Windows. Or something close to it. But it was to make documents, not really programming.
Anyway, its OK to start with Basic to get the idea of programming, then move to a "better" language (like C/C++). If you have the time and study a lot it, wont take too much to learn.
Go for it

Btw, where are you from (in Brazil)?

Cya,

Hey RoTTer
I know Visual Basic too, not QBasic or Apple Stuffs
I live in SP, Alphaville
Are you Brazilian ? or you are just Studing here ?
If you are studing here... Why here ? USA have a lot of better Universitys...
I met this fellow that is making the same course...
Computer Science
What do you learn in Computer Science ?
maybe I change the my University Route...
Talk to ya by ICQ...

Thanks
