It's been a long road, getting from there to here....
I must say, this site must be the greatest programming site I''ve ever been to. Nehe has been great when writing his tutorials, answering our questions, arranging contests with prizes and so on.. It''s been a long walk, I dunno how long this site has been up, a year? Two years? When I personally found this site, I was thrilled to see a site that actually had readable tutorials! Heck, when I was scoping the net for 3ds filehandling I only found some documents from 1997 that took a while for me to fully understand, and when i finally managed to load a 3ds file of a simple 6-sided box, I thought that I might FINALLY start doing some really kick-ass 3D programming =D
But... as usual, my code worked ONLY for that single 3ds file, the rest I made: cylinders, spheres, pyramids, giant robots, spaceships.. Eventhough I made them the same way I made the box, my program STILL couldn''t load them.
You could easily say that I was enraged. I couldn''t find a descent tutorial, a tutorial that said:
1. do this.
2. do that.
3. Now I shall explain why we did those 2 things.
Then, my brother came into my room and gave me this odd looking internet adress: "nehe.gamedev.net"
Sure, I knew it was a programming site since it had "gamedev" in it. So... I went and checked this site out. Heck, I even tried programming OpenGL for a few days.
I became very happy when I found all these tutorials, this site, that I found NeHe. This site is the equivelence of http://www.mr-gamemaker.co.uk which suddenly stopped writing tutorials, sadly enough.
What I simply want to say is that NeHe is a great site, has tutorials which are as great as mr-gamemaker''s and that this site is currently the best OpenGL programming site alive!
Keep up the great work NeHe!
Miss the lack of new tutorials though, but I''ll just have to cope with it =)
Great work, keep it up!

I also want to thank NeHe for his tutorials !
Finally something I can understand well...
All those tutorials should keep me busy for this year :D

Yes, Nehe does deserve quite a bit of praise. Not only for creating this great site to begin with, and helping out those who emailed him questions, but also for keeping the site going when life dealt its nasty blows.
Way to go man, thanks for the site and keep up the good work.

yes. great job so far, jeff
If that's not the help you're after then you're going to have to explain the problem better than what you have. - joanusdmentia
