I''m making a 2D dos curling game, but I have no clue what type of physics are involved in curling (considering how I''m in my first year of physics). Can someone name a few of them, it would be a bonus if you had links that explain them, but thanks anyways. -Dave
Three effects are at work here
friction - varies across the sheet of Ice
momentum - to counteract friction
torque - the friction acting at different sections(radii) of the curling stone rotates the stones and make it curve

Also look at ''inertia'': The resistance to acceleration. This is important when one stone impacts another.

Newton''s Third Law of Motion may be of good use too: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." The momentum of one curling stone impacted by another is its own momentum minus that of the impacting stone.

what I need to know is when a rock hits another rock.. in which direction will the other rock go?
How would I figure out the normal?
Handling collisions if fairly easy... grab an introductory physics text book from your library and look up kinematics.

Also, in case you missed it, you might want to read the archives of this forum... there was a good thread recently on curling physics!
