Common collision model

Does anybody know what collisionmodel any fps-games use for the players? I have always thought that the players were represented by a cylinder, but Im not sure anymore.. Thanks /Fredrik Olsson

But if they were to use an ellipsoid, you would be slipping when standing on the edge of a platform, but in quake and unreal e.g you don''t.
