culling in openGL

hy, i''m french and i''m working on a 3d engine. does someone know the fonctions : glEnable(GL_CULL_FACE) glFrontFace(GL_CW) or glFrontFace(GL_CCW) glCullFace(GL_FRONT,GL_BACK or GL_FRONT_AND_BACK ) ?
We know them. The question is, what do you want to know about them?

yes, i just want to know if it''s a good thing i.e. increase fps
Yes. In an ideal case, they can double FPS. Even in the worst case, they cost very, very little. Use culling.
