no violence
I believe games are for people to step away from their normal lives and become somebody exciting. A violent life is most unfortunately more exciting, so we want games like that. People don''t make games to be righteous in front of God, or gods, they do it to have fun and make some cash. Good Luck on a non-violent game.

I think it''s hillarious that _SOMEHOW_ being Christian makes you a violence hater.
Let me clear this up for you: Just because your Christian doesn''t mean you have to use it as an excuse for your personality.
Stop it.
It is just plain stupid to say something like:
"I''m creating a game, but I don''t want violence, because I''m Christian."
"I''m Christian so I don''t like violent games."
"I like mexican food because having gas in bed is the greatest feeling in the world!"
People; It''s nice that your proud to be Christian, but stop extending it to no good purpose other than to fit in.

As far as I know I never mentioned religion and by the way I dont believe in god so THAT is not the issue I were pursuing...
I am talkin about movie called The Saint and the tv series The Saint, he is a thief who uses saint based names( therefore the name The Saint) I think you could get quite good game from that material if it is made well...
the basic info of The Saint (movie)

I''ve played the demo of Catechumen, one of your "non-violent" FPSes. I''m going to have to disagree with you regarding its nonviolent status. As I recall, most enemies were defeated by hitting them with a sword until they saw the light and repented their evil ways. While this was an unintentionally hilarious commentary on religious evangelism, it really wasn''t particularly nonviolent, especially since they were also hitting you with swords and they intended to kill. Besides, the basic message of FPSes is still present, only made even worse: not only can all problems be solved with physical violence, but said violence is actually good for the recipient.
If you really want to talk nonviolent games, consider Thief: The Dark Project and its sequel. While it was possible to kill people in that game, it was never necessary, and it was also often a very bad idea as others would find the body and figure out something was wrong. I''d be interested in a game based on the Saint or other nonviolent heroes like MacGyver... lame though it sounds, the on-the-fly inventor was one of my childhood heroes.
I don''t mind FPSes particularly... they are challenging, competitive games and the better ones have a significant strategic element (Tribes 2 anyone?). But I agree that the market is glutted with ultraviolence, especially violence which serves no particular purpose and could be toned down without making the game less enjoyable. I wouldn''t mind a paintball FPS - all the competition without the blood.

A game based on the MacGyver could be very educational too, since you would have to learn how things work in order to proceed... so it would be a "healthy" hero for these turbulent times. The saint could also be used in that way, but it would be harder to make it educational.
They both could be a dual engine games combining 1stP engine with 3rdP engine, and they could be made as long games since there is quite a few episodes on both series. If someone actually starts making those games it would be one h*** of a work, but there is one good thing... =) developers dont have to do the movie scenes allover again.
Lets look at those games from customers point of view, who would buy that kind of games? To whom they would be ideal?
Parents would buy them for their kids, since the game would be non violent and educational it would be ideal for children, but if it is made as another kids game the idea loses its edge. Main audience of those games should NOT be kids, they just happen to be games that kids can play too, and they might bring the whole family together on the computer IF they are done properly.
You said on the fly inventor was your childhood hero, so it would be subject from the time when parents were kids, a subject the parents know is safe for their kids, hence making it easier to buy it.
