I''m trying to learn one myself... Has anyone tried gmax? Is it worth the download? All i really know is that its free and its a cut down version of 3ds max.

I like gmax myself. It''s just like 3d studio max to me except you can''t directly export to .3ds or anything like that. and that can be gotten around easily.
gmax is also pretty easy to learn since you''ve got all of the 3d studio tutorials on the net.

if you download gmax(discreet''s game modeler, the same ones who made 3D studio max) you can use it with milkshape. If you create a good model in gmax, export it using the tempest patch. This will let you export .md3. Then with milkshape load up the .md3 and convert it to the desired format.
