What are the steps I should take when creating a pc game? For example do I brain storm an idea then write a story etc...

If you want to do it: can you program? can you create decent artwork? can you write a story and create characters?

I am interested in actually creating a PC game and I was wondering what the best way to approach it was. I would like a list of the steps involved or something like that.

1:decide what you want to do.
2:write a design doc.
3:Decide what technolgy you want to use.
4ut a team together.
5:Get a programmer and an 3d artist first to test out ideas.
6:Start project say goodbye to your personnel life.
7:Try to get it published and then retire(you wish).
or do you mean what skills do you need.
well coding C++,3D modelling,Script writting,Mapping skills would be a start.
or you could have a couple of million lying around and hire people to do it.
