So I just got another cold outreach from a consultant like probably the 20th I've gotten, and they claim they want to help, and such, yet they know nothing about games….

As soon as I said, I didn't have money to pay him. he instantly changed his helpful stance. and even went as far to say “he wasn't looking for friends either”.

I have a feeling he wil eat those words soon, yet I wonder what yall think?

I also had another consultant go to the trouble of getting her assistant to schedule a phone call, and when the time arrived, no call. I waited, nothing. I sent her a message later that day, with no forthcoming response.

I THINK THIS IS THE GAMES EXPERIENCE DELEMA AGAIN?

Where people outside of our industry really have no idea what we do, or how we do it.

Conventional business and management Techniques don't work in this industry, especially not the indie level, and most people don't know what to do, so they choose to do nothing?

Anyone got any experiences to share? with consultant and coach outreaches?

What would a consultant or coach need to demonstrate to win your business aka your money?

No, this is life as a human in the 21st-and-a-half century. If your email address and/or phone number are out there for bots and scammers to find, you get scammers coming out of the woodwork. You need to fine-tune your scam radar.

And what does this have to do with your subject line, “General Consultants useless to us?”

You seem to be saying you are in need of one or more “consultants,” but that's such a general term, get my gist? You have to know what you need, and it's up to you to determine quickly whether an applicant matches your needs.

Any unsolicited business offers received by email should be assumed to be spam/scams. That said, if you are contacting a consultant without being willing/able to pay them, then you are the one wasting their time, not the other way around.

Same thing. Just because someone has a LinkedIn account doesn't mean they're on the up and up. Assuming, that is, that they “hit you up” unsolicited.
