Building a new game

I'm building an idle/tycoon game(like the ones you see in ads), what new features/ideas do you want to see?

“An idle/tycoon game” is kind of vague. You need to tell us more than that. Railroads? Rollercoasters? Airports? Medical supplies? Rocketships?

@Tom Sloper like a bartender idle or real estate idle/tycoon, a good example is Idle Miner Tycoon-you can search on google play/app store

Which is it? Bartender? Or Real estate? Or mining? Or a real estate tycoon who tends bar in a mining town?

Have you not decided what kind of tycoon game you want to make? And you want us to tell you what you want to make?

I don't mind the idea that you have to wait for customers to come by or complete a task so that you make your money and then decide what to invest in so that you progress and grow. But the last two idle games I played, there seemed to be nothing that really made it feel like you're growing. The pattern would be to wait for the money to come in and then upgrade your equipment, which didn't feel like it meant much. Then, you're somehow making more money with same visual representation of customers and sales. The next upgrade of course costs more money but it's the only thing to work towards so with little to do until enough money comes in, you get bored, click an ad, and now you magically have enough money to do the upgrade and... repeat.

Give people actual things to do or decisions to make that affect the outcome of their game. It may defeat the purpose of calling something an "idle" game but at least try to give people the feeling like they're not on a predetermined set of events calculated to maximize ad revenue.

@kseh ok, thanks!

Study the games Tapper and Diner Dash, then. See how you can borrow those concepts for your Bar Tycoon or Alcohol Tycoon idea.

But seriously? Design the game YOU want to design. Don't try to design what you THINK the market wants. The market doesn't know what it wants. Do a little research. Watch the Simpsons, Season 2, episode 15, “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?” and read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edsel about how the market tried to design a car and then hated what they got.
