If you don't have a degree in computer science or pursuing one, I don't think you are going to get a job in games. If you aren't actively in a university you aren't qualified for internship.
Now if you are just poking around with coding, then build something really good (a unique program) that proves you can at least accomplish something. Just posting that you learned to do quicksort yourself isn't even the surface of what it takes to work on games. Definitely an uphill battle if you are not pursuing a degree.
