Anamorphic lenses

Hi

I saw this video https://www.artstation.com/artwork/d8y4Jx on artstation, and I'm wondering how to do that kind of effect :]

I want to do it in my own engine, but I'm also using UE4 for prototyping.

From what I see there / searched, this is not simple color grading + 'squashed horizontally' Diaphragm DOF.

There is 'something' done with the projection itself, it's not the simple FOV/Aspect ratio change IMHO (but it's a postprocess effect ?, since doing all the projection adjustment thru UE4 WPO would be overkill ??).

Is there any documentation/example to look at in this topic (well from the programming point of view, I'v found Arri Alexa optics whitepapers, but that's little pointlesa in terms of realtime rendering since obviously I cannot simulate rays going thru the lenses inless I'm doing some kind of pathtracer)

The plugin described in this artstation vide is non-existent, probably never released :/

NOTE::I'm not inrerested in anamorphic flares/bloom :D (those are fairly easy)

Thanks for any info/tips how to approach this.
