Why do things like Warcraft III issue happen?

That's terrible. I did not know that.

But it also doesn't affect me personally, because I only play the single-player modes, and my Windows/gaming PC isn't even connected to the internet. It's precisely because of crap like that that I don't allow me Windows PC to connect to the internet.

WTF Blizzard. They apparently lost the d2 source code a long time ago, too. That d2 remastered? Look forward to something worse than wc3 reforged. IDK if I'll ever buy another Blizzard game, TBH, time will tell. A long time ago I stopped wondering, what will be the next big Bliz thing? Now its all about other companies, and few.

My understanding is that they wanted to make a new game that was still playable against the old game. So that someone with a copy of the new game could play against someone with a copy of the old game. That sounds like a development nightmare and something a higher up executive type would dream up without consulting the development team.

I'm betting that was a catalyst for many of the issues that the project faced.
