OVERVIEW
Women and men respond differently when it comes to video game preferences. As a matter of fact, very few girls are into gaming and it should be an advice that their most played game was Candy Crush.
The nature of that game must not be underestimated. Notice this particular characteristics:
- The game is linked to social networks
- There is a subtle sense of collecting, an activity that some women find enjoyable
- The human-machine interface is very simple. Barely 2D, it does not present complex motion.
Then that is why it is so difficult to find an activity that men and women can share as equal. Their difference in taste is just too big.
There’s an old thought on this. : “Everybody loves travelling, but men enjoy the journey, women enjoy the destination”. (Not that old actually. I coined it a couple years ago)
Get it?
And there’s one more point women appreciate some more than men.
- There should be an element of romance
THE GAME
A video game that combines all elements that made fortnite and Candy Crush a success. Plus the romance element. maybe a little like a matchmaking site.

Now that you familiarized with all technical aspects of the Centaur battle suit, and the roles of the occupants, let’s go to the game itself.
GAMEPLAY
Each gamer has to choose being soldier or gunner. Not trying to be discriminatory, but it will need a filter so women choose to be gunner and boys soldiers. The mission of the soldier is basically a first person shooter type, whereas the role of the gunner is to shoot laser guided missiles and her plasma gun, and collect and organize the supplies. Interestingly, she can trade items with other centaurs, if she wants. The advantage is that they both combined, will have a superior firepower than a single person. Also visibility will be improved. That is, the gunner can move her visual field independently of the soldier’s.
Also, there will be a full duplex voice communication channel between the two occupants of the Centaur. The audio can be expanded to a team of players in cooperative mode.
Noise of shoots, explosions and alarm bells should also be heard by both of them.
I have noticed that some girls actually enjoy watching a game his boyfriend is playing, without taking part, but this can be more immersive if she is indeed helping the guy in the game.
The story describes in detail the operation so that it is the way the game is played. It can be played against the aliens or a death match mode, versus other couples.
PARTNERSHIPS
When looking for a partner in the game, there could be many criteria to choose. Boys may chose their female partners based on looks, however with time there will be other factors more related to the ability to play the game, since their ranks and virtual money will go up with their won battles. So people may at some point settle for a partner with more resources (just like in real life, let’s be honest).
Partnerships will be chosen quite much like on a friendship-making social network. That means, the profiles should be available, and there should be a system of qualifying. That means: Battles won, amount of items, how armed is the centaur, etc.
END OF PARTNERSHIP (A.K.A DIVORCE)
If the two players on the same suit decide to split, the soldier (boy) keeps all the weapons on the suit, and the woman (gunner) all the items in the backpack, so if they want, can look for another partner in the social network, based on a give-and-get trade. Of course women will want to match with the best possible player and men will want the girls that have the most items with which they can replenish ammo, buy new skins, and stuff like that.
DEVELOPMENT
And as the story goes, The partnership between the two occupants of a centaur will grow, may be resulting in a nice friendship or something more romantic.
And that would be great.
The game should be preceded by a video or short movie with the story. But that is up to the marketing people.
