I was just surfing www.darklands.net after many years of not thinking about the game and I began to remember what a good (if not sometimes very difficult game it was) There were some neat ideas and role playing aspects to it, I thought primarly the repuation system was very fun. And for the time, the hand painted pictures etc... were really cool. Anyone else remember it? Why do "they" only remake games that were not as cool as some others that could be remade. I''d personally love to see new updated and GOOD versions of: Darklands XCom (the first one, Apocolypse sucked) A good ol'' sierra adventure. Hmm probably many others. Sorry if this is dumb, just curious actually... -S

Yeah Darklands was good but I wasn''t into all that alchemy stuff. Another German game was Realms of Arkania, there were like 8 pages of statistics in that thing, heh, they''d never do something like that these days...

Yeah I still have Darklands lying around some where... I played it once not to long ago... I ended up defacing some alter.... The alchemy i really didn''t like either, just like it the might and magic series i never messed with potions

I loved Darklands...great game, and difficult!! One of those games that just never seemed to get the attention it deserved.
I still have it on my shelf...original box, manual, and everything. Yup...an oldie but goodie.
