A experienced developer could make this in say, four months if everything was well planned. A professional could probably do it in a month or two. A dedicated new developer starting from scratch should be able to finish it in around a year.

Art, code and everything in this game is beginner stuff, I single person learning only the basics could make this. So team members 1.

Money: whatever your living costs is for say a year as the worst case. You don't need to buy any software.

The reason for the long development time estimate is because of the scripted gameplay, it takes a lot of time and busy work to get it done. Nothing else in the game looks complex.is.

Based on what I've seen the graphics are extremely basic and wouldn't be time consuming. In my opinion, the programming could be done within a few months but depends on the skill level and experience, You would need a client, server, and various tool sets to make editing much easier going forward. You'll also save money by being able to edit the game using such tools as opposed to paying a programmer to hard code it all in.

I cannot give you a dollar figure for all the costs because you need the following first:

Detailed list of all graphical assets

Detailed list of all audio assets

Are you hiring someone to write story and quest content?

You'll also have to factor in a few other things such as server, marketing, and customer service costs.

On the programming side as an example if it takes around 300 hours then you'll have to figure out the amount based on someone's hourly rate, or if they charge by project. This could range from $10,000 to $25,000+ to start, or even less if you're able to get an hourly employee at a lower rate. As a 3rd party company I wouldn't quote less than $15,000 to start, and it would increase as the project requirements grow and change.

As your game expands, you'll still need a programmer on staff to add in the updates unless you have a 3rd party editor developed to easily edit maps, quests, items, ect...
