Texturing tools
So I've been doing quite a bit of 3D art and I've posted a lot of it here, but my biggest problem has still been texturing. I'm still not superb at it, even though I do make use of tools like crazy bump. I know how to unwrap UVs etc. but I just can't get my textures to be very good. Thing is, partially I don't know texturing in general.
Here's some sample pictures of stuff I've made.
(I can't really post all of them in one post, so I'll add more in separate posts)

I'm not an expert on texturing....I use Substance Painter though as far as tools go. If I were to want a "realistic" style, I would likely get the gametextures.com subscription and use that along with Painter. It is easy enough to mask off separate parts(with separate textures) and then apply gametextures/substances/whatever to each area in Painter, and then add a few needed things depending on the game, like grunge, etc... Maybe you should dab in to Substance Designer. Some people who can't visually create textures can do so just fine with Designer. It uses a node based interface and once you get the hand out of it there is a lot that can be done.

I'll definitely look into getting that tool, it does look like it'll be really helpful. Prices don't seem ridiculous either. My Photoshop skills are pretty bad tbh, so I've never really been able to get superb textures for that reason.
Anyone else have ideas?
