Here is the link to my journal.

I've added my first entry! I will post a link to all of the entries on the competition thread when it pops up as well.

Now I am going to try to rest up some.

certainly, for me i plan to use my 5 points for those entrys that are either technically impressive(i.e: using their own home built frameworks/engines), or games that end up ticking my fancy personally. I do expect this category to have some bias added in, so I don't recommend contestants look at it as something they can/can't get, as it does come down to each judge's own additional criteria, it'll help/boost you slightly, but it's not a category that any contestant should be trying to intentionally hit.

For my part, I expect to award these points based on attention to detail in the area of packaging and distribution (that is, did the game provide all the dependencies or make it otherwise simple for me, the user, to get the game and get it running).

Will the judges be using mice or will we see some laptop trackpads?

I'm fairly certain all judges are using mice.

also, 5 hours until the start of the competition!

Looking forward to the theme unveiling! (Although I will be asleep).

I have spent some time today setting up my dev environment and build tools as well as polishing up my base framework. I now have an empty "hello world" project that can build a release bundle. This is a step up from previous years where I left my packaging woes till late in the competition.

With all the real-life related things I have planned this week I will need to set the scope of my game to be on the small side. That's fine though and I will be happy just to get a completed entry in even if it's on the simple side.

The competition has begun here!

Please remember this thread is only for administration purposes, post all development blogs in the competition thread, not posting there well mean it will not be counted toward your participation!

good luck to everyone!

Last year was an awesome experience. This year I will not participate but I would like to give a prize to the team which will use a custom engine and will impress me most. The prize will be a Dark Souls III Digital Copy for each team member. Maybe if is possible when you post your entry to specify that is made in a custom engine so it will be easier for me to sort eligible teams :).

Great idea! As it happens, I'm going to use my own custom game engine for this competition, and I am a HUGE Dark Souls fan. :-D *wink wink nudge nudge*
