I feel like I already missed my time to learn this things

Look to your peers.

Some of them may wish to be Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, etc.

Most of them have not started studying medicine, law, or the other field they wish to go into, but anticipate studying their field in college.

If you attend college for at least 4 years, you will have plenty of time to learn programming or another aspect of game development.

I hard working ignorant man achieves more than a genius who sits on his bum.

Stay gold, Pony Boy.

Is Video games development strictly for geniuses?

No. It's strictly for people who
#1: Work really really hard.
#2: Are smart enough.
#3: Have preserverance

I recommend reading the book "Outliers" by Malcom Gladwell (I'm currently reading it, chapter 4!). It has nothing to do with game development and more to do with what helps people be successful.

The most important thing you'll need, in my opinion is passion. When you have passion, you don't have problems in spending hours and hours trying to achieve your goals. If you have passion you will spend most of your "non-developing" time reading about it, analyzing video games and imagining how to do "that thing".

Discipline and beginning with small projects, as they said is very important too.

If you really want to do it you'll find the way.
