I would be very interested in this, if there was a transcript.
Personally, I just can't really tolerate audio and video interviews like this. Part of it is my relatively terrible auditory memory - you can say something to me, and it goes in one ear and out the other, while I can still recall the images of pages in books I read a decade ago. The other is that I could read that transcript in well under half the time it would take to listen to the whole interview.
This is one of the big reasons I've had to stop following a number of tech bloggers lately (John Sonmez's Simple Programmer is particularly bad about this).
That was a very interesting interview, a lot of nice insights into the history and the design of the C&C series. As a big fan of C&C, it’s fascinating to get some insight into the decisions behind the evolution of the franchise. There’s some good general game design wisdom in there as well. The part about C&C4 and how focusing on realism is safer than trying to be humorous seems like the right idea in general. I also liked the double/half thing he said about how veterancy and some other mechanics in Tiberian Sun were too subtle, I think it’s still the best RTS at least for singleplayer, but the change in veterancy in RA2 and beyond is really noticeable in comparison, both visually and in terms of actual effectiveness.
Indie RTS I'm making: http://www.indiedb.com/games/empyrean-frontier

I'll ask,
I'm actually the exact oposate, I'm an auditory person, and can remember things said for just as long, but anything read with my eyes, I go huh after a bit.
TBH, you can get by with just audio, just leave it up as a tab and minimize it, go do somehting else on your comp, some of the visuals are nice, but in my mind, it's mainly just there to keep visuals engaged.
There were a few interesting moments, a bit long to my taste. That being said, I tip my hat to Louis Castle for making himself available so easily!
Thanks for putting this up here. I was a big fan of the first C&C and Red Alert games and this was an interesting interview.

How long would you have preferred?
