Emphasis mine.
All but = everything except.

Hello to all my stalkers.
Seems you need a pretty thick skin to be an "official person" on the Internet... Lots of people react before they think, and with anonymity and the ease of communication, you are bound to receive some pretty infiltered thoughts. Most people are also pretty bad at expressing their thoughts in text.
I don't think you should confuse all angry comments with "trolls". Originally the word "troll" (on the internet) meant someone that disagreed with you "just because", and with the sole purpose of pissing you off, only for their own enjoyment, with no real interest in the topic at hand. (I'm sure most people have met this kind of person in real life too).
Today it seems to shift towards meaning "anyone that does not agree with me", which I think is a very unproductive way to look at it.
It might be hard to see the difference sometimes, but trying to calmly engage in discussion usually filters out the people with legitimate claims from the trolls pretty quickly.

Being the guy who brought up the "T" word in the discussion, yes, that's exactly the kind of people who I assumed that situation was about.
People who have a different opinion or give constructive feedback are not what one would complain about and name them in a context of "got everything but death threats".
Getting constructive and sometimes not-so-constructive criticism (even when not asking for it!) is a normal thing in our modern society and especially on the internet. That's hardly something Shane would likely find surprising or be upset about enough so he'd start this topic. Obviously you wouldn't ban or report those people.
My impression from the original post was that the situation was rather some people having a good time flaming Shane and his project for no good reason and doing some massively negative things which seemed (at least to Shane) undeserved, presumably in a rather abusive manner. That's much different from having a different opinion, though.
I'm just going to let it go, and see if I can apologize instead of making a big deal about it.
Huh? Apologize for starting a KS project, apologize for not being the perfect superhuman who made the perfect project at his first attempt, or apologize for people giving you abuse?
What do you want to apologize for? (Unless there's something you've not told yet)
All this has done is make me interested what your KS is!
Hahaha... me too, I've already been searching, but in vain.
My impression was that his campaign proved provokative to some people, to a level that he did not predict/anticipate. Ie, he unitentially offended tons of people. Maybe something like a WW3 game where the back story is that Russia invades Europe, or maybe yet another Nazi shooter which I'm sure is not that popular with now-living germans, or maybe something to do with feminism.
If gamergate has shown us anything is that you should not try to make a big deal of it, it will only make matters worst.
Endorse your idea if you think it is a good one and let people over critical fuck off, you are asking for support of those who find your campaing a good idea, those who don't are free to close the page and go do something else with their lives.
