Specific to your posted spec list -- I would say emphatically, don't do a 780ti at this point. A GTX 980 is similarly powerful, but with a newer feature set and about 2/3rds the power draw / heat production, which translates directly to less fan noise.

If you want a closed-loop cooler, take a look at Swiftech -- AFAIK, they're the only closed-loop cooler vendor that uses copper radiators, everyone else is aluminum. Their closed loop coolers can also be opened up to be expanded, and the pump is strong enough to push liquid through additional radiators or heatsink blocks. The H220-X or H240-X (if you can fit it) are nice.

Swiftechs can't be sold in the US due to patent/legal issues. They are, however, sold under the Cooler Master brand as Glacers.

I know this very well, I had to import my H220 through NCIX via Canada -- Firstly, importing the H220 wasn't any more expenseive than what US retail prices were, pre-ban. But the H220-X actually gets around the patent issue by moving the integrated pump from the CPU heatsink block to the radiator (the patent trouble was around pumps being integrated on the CPU block, specifically) -- that said, it looks like US retail hasn't hopped back on the swiftech bandwagon, retailers don't like when their vendors cause them trouble. The Glacer route may be easier -- and from what I can tell it does indeed look like the same unit, albeit with coolermaster fans and branding. At any rate, either an 'authentic' Swiftech or Glacer are top-notch options, the copper and general component quality deliver superior performance to less-expensive alluminum all-in-ones, usually besting those with radiators that are a step larger.

Go figure I'd get a big deluge of stuff on tuesday, when I decided to go ahead and order it on monday. Thankfully, I did upgrade to a GTX 970 (980 is a bit steep @ ~$550 right now), and threw another 1TB on my secondary HDD (for a total of 3TB) for good measure, since I absolutely hate running out of space. I dropped the case, and after a LOT of shopping around, ended up going with the Enthoo Luxe, which I have to say I absolutely love. It was between that and the Thermaltake Level 10 GT, but I decided to go with the Enthoo.

I didn't get a water cooler, but given all the feedback I've seen on that, I'll probably pick one up with my monitors on black friday / cyber monday. Thanks, guys.

Hmm sounds like a gaming Rig your trying to accomplish. Do you know what video memory you want and teh Cpu Benchmarks, that you want to see. How many clock counts do you need on your GPU processor. Truthfully you dont have to spend a lot of money just to test games and graphics.

your cpu specs seem very odd and so maybe you feel you need to update.

I would only spend the money for a Titan if i was really serious about Game development for Unity, or Crystal engine 4, Source engine.

Sometimes Fantasy is the Only option.

I wanted a multipurpose machine, for both gaming and dev work. I don't know hard numbers very much (or at least I forget them easily), but my GTS250 is a really old card. It couldn't even meet minimum specs for a number of new games. Now with a 970 I can max them.

I'm not "really serious" about anything at the moment, as I'm already employed in industry and don't really have a whole lot of drive after work hours, but I like to have a window open, and I like my windows big.

It's all really a moot point now though, as I've already built and started using the new machine. All I need now is a couple monitors, and that'll probably come in a month or so.
