"mind" or "void" are popular all-powerful elements/forces/etc

Anti-matter destroys all other matter, on contact, in a puff of photons. NICE!

how bout Space/Time? without time there is no space, without space there is no time. so without either there would be no universe.

i'm thinking maybe you could add something like quantum mechanics or theories of relativity, the underlying bases of existence/universe. this is still somewhat "mystical" stuff to us. so giving only your most powerful mages, preists, scholars, characters, gods, etc. the understanding and power of Time itself would give you some badasses. or if its for part of your religious structure, it would give your people a scientific/academic slant. they wouldn't be just some faith-following zealots but have a curiosity about there surrounding.

FYI, space/time was the basis for time mages and magics in various Squaresoft games (FFT and FFV come to mind).

My vote is for Death. Death really isn''t either good nor evil, as both sides die. Also, death can kill things despite strength.
I think there's to much blood in my caffeine system.
Sounds like you want an element without a counterpart
(unlike the other 8). So... all of the following might work.

Death (Life)
Void
Chaos (Order)
Time

Void and Time might be the best because they seem to have no
counterpart, (Time is also used in Chrono Cross as the seventh
element)

I didnt read all the posts. My reaction is time.

Spells could do things like:

Slow down an enemy, freeze an enemy in time while you can still attack, speed up ally(s), revert an enemy to a younger state, completely undo an attack etc.
Uh..what about rock. That''s an element.
Alex Pinkston (I guess this is what your asking)
Oh wait nevermind...you have earth.

Maybe I''m a romantic, but what about love?

Like the mother confessor in that book "Sword of Truth", by Terry Goodkind. She used her power to make someone love her so completely that their personal identity was sweep away. They would do anything she wanted after that point, even die on the spot if she asked it.
