nVIDIA more strict then AMD ?

For budget-constrained users such as other thread OP, AMD packs way better tools.

It is my understanding the only tool by now is Nsight, which is a very slick VisualStudio plugin. Whoops. No plugins for Visual Studio Express as far as I can remember.

In my experiance Nsight isn't great... hell, I've found PIX For Windows more useful in tracking stuff down with D3D11.

Although this should come as no surprise as NV don't Dog Food their own tool; they use different internal tools for debugging and not Nsight.

Basicall, the whole landscape for APIs and tools is a big bundle of shit which despresses the fuck out of me. It's probably the biggest thing which stops me coding at the weekends now as even if I don't have to deal with them right away at some point, some where along the line, I will..
