Hi,

The third part of my series about motivation is on-line, you can read it here:

Please let me know what you think about learning, frustration and how they affect one's motivation.

Cheers,

Mihai

I noticed you said failure. As in we're taught failure is a bad thing. That's true, failure is akin to operating heavy machinery drunk, and many people will suffer from this negligence, it's sabotage / murder. That's probably what school really taught us.

What I heard a teacher say out loud in college is that mistakes are not encouraged in society, so we avoid trying things outside our comfort zones.

When you observe some guy jump in a pool fully clothed you probably think "what a fool" he forgot his shoes. Until some girls jump in with him. You might wonder what his secret is, that was not supposed to happen, it never happens, and you still don't want to do it because that's a new pair of shoes for every pool you jump into.

I've read about the idea guy. It's a serious misnomer. You really want to avoid the lazy team.

Since English is not my native language I still have to learn the subtle meanings of various words and expressions. I used failure according to a definition I have found on the internet in which the first meaning enumerated among many was:

1. The condition or fact of not achieving the desired end or ends

This is what I actually try to express, the fact that you try something but not achieve the desire end.
