To me, posting "So... I think I quit game development :(" on gamedev.net is an obvious troll. Just saying.

You seem not to understand the concept of trolling. I'm not trying to intentionally anger or frustrate someone else. If my post angers you then that's your problem. Other people here seem to be very helpful and supporting.

I think he is trying to say, he doesn't feel trolled or not trolled hard enough to rage

Yup, I'm trying to say that. The thread is a cry for help or encouragement, not an attempt to draw folks into meaningless squabbling.

Not a troll.

Any advices to not make it happen? How exactly are you dealing with your problems? Could you share you story?

I would say, If you start to work on games again do whatever you personally want. Like dont put a story into the game just because a game should have a story. Dont make a tower defense game just because thats cool now. Dont develop for IPhone just because of the $$ when you actually want to develop for PC.

If you do this and will still be demotivated, ...you will at least know that gamedev is really not for you. On the other hand, if you focus on whats popular, ...you will soon find yourself trying to compete with AAA games or trying to please candy crush people. And that just generates self conflict for an indie.

I feel like I should express myself in my game.

When I read that part, I immediately thought of Indie Game: The Movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1942884/). I think it offers some cool and emotional insight into a few indie game developers' psyche. Seeing how much they saw themselves and their own vulnerabilities in the game was something I didn't see coming. It was an enjoyable watch. It's on Netflix for streaming if you happen to have that.

I saw that movie a year ago or so. It's great.
