I spoke to him yesterday (I have to cross in front of his bar to get to the station to go to work and he just happened to be outside).

His behavior was a bit suspicious because he seemed to be trying to become buddy-buddy again and even slightly apologetic, while at the same time not just coming out and saying, “Sorry for pushing you down the stairs,” because even if it was just an accident I would still be able to press charges if he ever admitted to that last push.

Without him actually saying it clearly I am left to draw conclusions on my own, but it seems it was likely an accident. I don’t think he meant for that last shove to throw me off balance. Either that or of course he just wants to become friends again to avoid further investigations that might reveal the truth about his side, but given our history I am willing to give him the benefit of a doubt. This time.
