Genesis3D Rules!
What about Power Renderer, it seems to be a dessent engine abit complicated to work, but it seems to do stuff even better then most games I have seen out there so far!

Power Renderer? Where can I find that? A few web searches reveal nothing.
Thanks a lot

Works genesis3D also well under an ATI Rage Pro? I think even very fast engines can''t run fast under this ultra-stupid card, I think. I''ve one, and I''ve tested these cards with 2 PC''s. These were equally, except that one had an ATI, and the other hadn''t any 3D-acelerator. What do you think? On the ATI-machine, P Celeron 400 MhZ, 2fps, on the non-ATI machine 120 fps. Also it seems to me, that the rage pro has a great difficulty with blending and alphacolors.

Its "power render" not "renderer" actually, if you search it by that name, you will get this link www.egerter.com
and also theres a power render forum, right here in gamedev.
Power render is great, but its basically a multi use engine, it doesnt have a portal or bsp engine built in,
however it does have a terrain engine and a character system but almost all the tools are msdos style parameter based (with the exception of the newest which doesnt work in my voodoo 3d card) so it is relatively slow to work with it. its advancing in that area though. But still you have to build your own engine to work with it, unless you are
planning on making a terrain based game.

No, its not, but its not expensive either. $289.95
But IT doesnt have a collision/bsp/portal engine built in...
So No one is going to answer how do I get started in genesis3d?

There is colision detection in POwer render and you can also laod quake levels and quake characters so there has to be some sorta bsp thing going on and in the demos he does have a first person example!

*sigh* ok. Power render does have a portal engine and a bsp quake bsp engine (reader) also it has a bit of collision detection, but It all comes with version 3 not with version 2.6, and even if you do have it both engines are not complete, so you still have to code your way around them. in conclusion power render doesnt have a _complete_ bsp or portal engine because you are supposed to build your own with it. In the other hand it does have a great terrain engine.
