United Nations Secretary General

Hi everyone,

As part of my game world I would like a United Nations where the members are charged a membership fee that is put into a money pot that is used to provide money to a player that might have suffered from a natural disaster or war.

The person that gets to decide how the money is spent is the secretary general. The other duties of that person is to co-ordinate global relief efforts (food, personnel etc) and lead the united nations army. They can delegate that responsibility to another player if they want.

Every so often the players of the world elect a new secretary general.

What does everyone think?

Provide the basic information, it's hard to tell for what kind of game it is supposed to be. Is it multiplayer or MMO? How many players? What genre? Is the world persistent or era/reset/ based (how long it's played)? Who the player is (a country, an individual, etc). Is it competitive or cooperative game? What's the core gameplay mechanic? What are the victory conditions (money, prestige of a country)?

Seems interesting - I'd first check to see if you can use the United Nations name/flag without violating any copyright issues. NGOs still own their own brands.

I'd suggest reading Level Up and planning a game design document first. A simple idea won't be enough to show the full workings of your game idea to potential people. Time to put in some work! Best of luck to you.

The person that gets to decide how the money is spent is the secretary general.

So if I make promises and deals to send resources and weapons, and build his country up, or make him a wealthy man, would he be able to "decide" to spend the money on me and my nation?
