Is it just my computer or does anyone else get the same? Try the following:

1. Open google chrome

2. type in address bar "javascript mod player" (without quotes)

3. press enter

Some random chiptune should start playing.

enjoy.

:D

Nope.

Same here.

No chiptune. Bummer. I was hoping it was an Easter Egg!

I wonder what you have on your computer that does that? Does it play with anything else?

Haha i got it.. great tune tongue.png

Version 28.0.1500.72 m

Hm that's weird. Chrome 28.0.1500 here as well.

Upon further investigation it seems to come from the google search page...

Have you guys configured chrome to automatically start a google search when entering something other than an url in the address bar?

I have tested on firefox and ie and it doesn't play anything.

At least Zwonkie hears the tunes! smile.png

Edit: I have absolutely no addons. Just a vanilla chrome installation.

Edit²: When I disable "predict network actions to improve page load performance" under advanced settings it's gone. Apparently chrome loads the first search result in the background which then starts playing automatically...

Edit³: It's this page http://www.cyrilpereira.com/modplayer/

Nono, i also get to the search page, but a tune is played through chrome in the background. I checked windows sound mixer and the browser is generating the tune...

there are some good and bad tunes.. so keep entering the "easter eeg" tongue.png

Edit: it takes around 10-15 sec before the tune starts after entering the line..

Also, when it goes to the search page, dont enter a new search or anything.. dont touch anything and it should start.. if you make a new search during the tune, it will disappear

.mod was a type of music file back in the early 90's ....
