Where can I sell 2D character sprites?

Hello

Is there a site like Turbosquid for 2D artists? On Monday I am going to spend a day creating animation sprites for a 2D male character. I will create walk cycles, run, jump, attack, attacked, shoot etc etc. I aim to make it in a way so that the character could be easily altered by programmers who could use photoshop to customize for their own game. I could also provide the flash file so that it would a whole lot easier to edit colours and render out the png sprites, than colouring each png frame on photoshop. Anyway, this is just a test run, if nothing comes of it, it should still make for a nice portfolio piece but my question is, where could I put them up online for sale?

Here are a couple of samples of my work, to show that I am looking to creating some good artwork

The Gamedev.net marketplace
The Unity Asset Store

I don't know of any big specific sprite marketplaces. There have been lots of short lived personal websites. It doesn't seem viable, as people end up uploading them to every public domain sprite collection on the internet as soon as they get their hands on them.

Yeah, its a bit crap how others could resell, but as the original designer, could you not (if you wanted to, probably not worth the hassle) threaten legal action? Anyway, that aside, I'm going to make it next next week primarily as a portfolio piece to use as sample art but if I've got it, I might as well see if I can sell it as stock assets online if possible.
