Haya dudes.

Anybody else watch "The Newsroom"? I've been watching it since it started, and I'm really enjoying it both stylistically and politically. I don't agree necessarily with all the points being made, but I think it's really important that a lot of what's being said on the show is seen by people; namely problems with the political system, not ones with either party.

I do wish they'd be more even on the parties, as so far they've generally targeted republicans. Not that I think what they're saying about them is invalid, I just think there's plenty of ammo to shoot at both sides and I wish they would do so.

Anyway, your thoughts if you've watched it?

Here's the season 1 intro, which is pretty awesome imo.

I only watched the 1st episode and the intro was the only part of it that wasn't boring.

I got the feeling as if the rest of the episode the show is trying to show that USA is not bad as shown in the intro, that women seems like some kind of a motherly figure that tries to keep that guy toghether and convince him that USA is still dreamland etc... This totaly killed it for me.

I feel like you might have read the wrong message into the intro if you don't think the whole show follows the same message. It's all about the hope for a better America and a group of people doing what they can to change the reality of America.

Hoping for a better America is not the same as thinking that America is still dreamland.
I think it's an amazing T.V, show. Especially how they manage to mix in humor with the serious topics they cover, so glad they have been OK'd a second series.

I didn't know that. That makes me happy. I've heard the season finale (aired yesterday) was pretty solid, but I haven't seen it yet.

If I had one complaint so far it would be the whole romance triangle they've set up with Jim, Maggie, and Don. I don't mind that it exists, but it comes to the forefront way more than I'd like.
Do you think it has the potential to be as good as the West Wing ? It has the same creator but the context of the show wont allow for as many threads of story line I feel.
