A couple of 3d buildings made in milkshape3d will be available for FREE download for in-game use very soon. Plus I am writing tuts on how I modelled and mapped em.

Hmm...your character sprites will have to look pretty realistic, to some extent, to match those buildings nicely, not to mention the scenery and trees.
