Hi all, I've been wondering if I could sell the 3D models I made. I built some models in blender, and I textured and normal mapped them. I saw that there are people who sell their 3d models and get some money from it. I want to try it too, but I know nothing about selling digital files in the web. Anyone care to share some tips and experience? things to watch out?

And secondly, I heard that it's good to let user to "test before buy". In software market, I know that it's done by making "trial version" of the application. But I don't know how this is applicable to 3D models and texture. Do you happen to know something about it?

Lastly, sorry if my english is bad. It's not my native language. I hope you can understand the questions and clear my curiousity. Thanks before!!

Best regards,

Bow Vernon
I think the GDnet market is supposed to be for this exact thing.

Umm do you mean GDNet marketplace? I tried to upload my files but it won't let me. I wonder if I should register for premium membership before I get the access to upload anything...do you know where I could learn more about it? thanks btw for the answer :D:D

You should be PMing Gaiiden or Michael Tanczos (sp?) for this information.

For your "trial" idea. Watermark your texture or low res it, or take a portion like 25% of the mesh or a random 25% and completely mess up the UV coords so that they get a general idea, but no way to manually fix each triangle.
