In short it's like Johnny Cash rendition of "Hurt" or Jimi Hendrix rendition of 'All Along The Watchtower". It's not original, but it manages to takes every usual elements and make it awesome. I went to watch it THREE times (once normal screen, twice large screen - once billed as largest in south east asia large kind of way).

it has the usual rag to riches, family value, father son bonding, boxing, blah blah blah. but it was great. acting is great. music is great. featured song is great. directing is great.

My only complaint is that the trailer that they push around makes it look like "transformer with hugh jackman", but in reality the have "Rocky" of the new millenium.

I thought the MMA movie with the two brothers was the Rocky of the new millenium?

Having seen over the top I couldn't help but think that it really was Over the Top except the dad starts off hating the kid instead of loving him.
