Have you heard of drengin.net? Its the game subscription service run by Stardock Systems. One of the games they offer is a lot like Star Control multiplayer, but it also has base building and ship upgrades.

Ooo, Star Control I haven''t heard that game in a looong time. That was a very cool game. Were there any sequals or games that were as good that are feeware now?

I think I heard of someone putting together a fan sequel of Star Control. I hope its true, because I played Star Control 3, and loved it. And apparently, it''s the worst of the series.

OMG I loved Start Control II--BEST GAME EVER! I''ve actually been kicking around the idead of starting a SCII based Online Game. Anyone else played SCII?

I love Star Controll, I have I, II, and III, (2 was the best of them all).
I would love to play an online version of Star Control, have one big universe with hundreds of players.
