What is the best free, open source audio library for commercial production?

I'm trying to build my game engine with various open source resources, without having to pay loads of commercial publishing fees. I've googled for audio APIs a while ago and came up with lots of results, but now I want to find the most flexible/up to date ones that I could use in my games (which I aim to port to computers and phone devices). Any ideas?

OpenAL is your best bet. Supported on most platforms including some of the closed consoles.

Thanks, I'll probably end up using that as it sound flexible enough for what I need.
Try also FMod.
