I could load either 24bit or 32bit targa images in my OpenGL app.
But I got problems in creating 32bit targas..

This is my way of doing things. It failed to work..
Photoshop CS5
1.After creating a new file, I throw the default background layer into the trash and add a new transparent layer.
(Here, I am creating a very simple file)
2. I make a selection and fill in some solid color ,leaving the remaining area transparent.
3.I save the file as 32bit targa...

when loading the file in my OpenGL app, the region which should have been transparent is now pure white...

What is the correct way to do it? I may need a detailed tutorial...thank you in advance.
Photoshop's "transparency" information is ignored. You need to go to the channels tab, and click the button to add a new channel. When you click on the newly added channel, you can paint a black/white mask.
