Hyperlearning hypothesis

The hyperlearning hypothesis has been verified though the use of an ANN.

The real problem that I have is that I cannot forget the past (especially past incidences of racism on gamedev.net).

Is my problem related to the hyperlearning hypothesis? Given that 6 years ago I needed jyk to show me how to do basic conversion from Cartesian to spherical coordinates, and today I work with theories that are entirely based on the idea of coordinate system conversion, I'm willing to bet yes. Does this accelerated ability to learn / inability to forget also describe half of gamedev.net users? I'm willing to bet yes, but that doesn't mean we're all schizophrenic, even if a lot of us still need to be reminded to change our underwear daily. :)

In psychiatry/psychology, much of this is related to the well-documented concept of "latent inhibition" which is where animals categorize things as irrelevant to them and no longer consider them in decision calculations. People with dopamine-related disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar mania have lowered levels of latent inhibition... that is, they continue to return to things that other people would have already classified as irrelevant. Interestingly, diminished latent inhibition is also a characteristic of highly creative people -- likely for the same reason. That is, they continue to return to something and, as a result, view it from various aspects rather that simply dismissing it. Coincidentally, there is a high correlation between creative genius and those classifications of mental disorders.

Now... is this worth a very loosely relevant thread in the game AI forums? Probably not.

Is it worth yet another one of your trolling posts for which you have been developing a reputation around the forums? Certainly not.

Oh... and your "Greek letter" schtick is a strawman that is getting old very quickly. No one here has ever said that they abhor Greek letters... just simply that their overuse when not necessary starts to look like kIdDiEs UsInG aLtErNaTe CaPs 'CuZ dEy ThInK iT mAkEz DeM lOoK 1337.

Oh... and people who continue to troll over one single strawman start to look just as retarded. Never bring it up again lest you be whacked for trolling.
