I miss IOTD. When will it come back up? Anyone else want to request it with me as one of the most important things that needs to be fixed with the new GDnet right now?

We've made it very clear to them that we want IOTD; they professed surprise at it's support, but very clearly stated that they will get it fixed ASAP. They had to first focus on GDC - but since GDC ended only two weeks ago, I assume they are moving on to IOTD and other important areas of the site. Already in the short while since GDC ended, they've implemented a couple minor tweaks we requested, and introduced a new major feature.

I'm eagerly awaiting IOTD also! I'm very confident that it'll be added as soon as they are able to, since things seem to be progressing again after the conference. In the mean time, here's some information to feast on while you wait, since knowledge sometimes helps sate our longings:

I'm pretty sure you can post to the IOTD gallery right now though. So all that is needed is a frontpage block that picks an image. Click on the Community -> Gallery link.

The old IOTD wasn't just a random image gallery - it was mostly about the write-up that accompanied a batch of images.

Yeah you can post descriptions on a per-album basis. I'll modify the template to make it a little more prominent.. and right now we're not looking at the gallery IOTD being random.
