How do you see the people who rated you up?

Speaking of (not) changing avatars, we don't seem to be able to change our custom titles now either. E.g. mine says "Graphics Engineer" over on the left, but it seems to be stuck that way now; I can't find the control panel where I originally set that up any more. Now I feel out of place...

Oh, and what happened to my avatar (and some others too)? It used to be 32x32, at some point it was expanded out to 100x100 with a grey border, but then still displayed at 32x32, making it look tiny. Why did the forum software start attacking these images?
Here's the actual src image that's displayed on the left, without your browser resizing it:

I'm pretty sure that was only enabled for a very short amount of time, like maybe a day or two.

Yes, it shows both positive and negative votes, with links to the person so you can conveniently retaliate. That's almost as good as the sniper kitteh.
I've suggested to the staff that we hide the negative votes to avoid retaliation, both for GDNet+ members and moderators; the old system also worked this way, allowing moderators to check up on ratings but not see information about their own rating.

It would only be better if the snipah kitteh animation showed when you did retailiate. Actually, that should be a GDNet+ feature.

Slight hijack there... speaking of avatars, could someone inform me how to set one up? I can change my personal photo, but not a custom avatar. I only get a list of generic stuff pre-installed with the forum.

The GDNet+ subscription page states "View who gave you positive reputation points" as a GDNet+ benefit. Perhaps being able to see who downvoted you is a bug?

Its easy: go to the GDNet+ Subscriptions page (in the "Features" tab), purchase a subscription, go to your profile settings and change to whatever you like.

That's interesting, because I've seen profiles not GDNet+ group and still managed to have custom avatars.

That's because in the immedient aftermath of the switch-over to the new site, they accidentally left in a spot where non-GDNet+ users could set custom avatars. While everyone was exploring features, some users such as myself figured out how to change our avatars thinking it was intended to be like that. They fixed it, but our avatars remained until the next time we attempted to change it (for me this was last week - now I have to use one of the stock avatars available to anyone). There are still a few non-GDNet+ users around who haven't tried to change theirs yet, and still have their custom ones, but it's only one or two users, so it's not a problem.

It adds value to GDNet+ by making yourself more noticeable to the community, and thus helps fund the site, so I don't mind the loss of my avatar too much. They have to reserve some things for the site's supporters. tongue.gif
Cool, makes more sense!
