Forgive me if this exists elsewhere in the forums, but I was wondering if people knew of any music competitions that are around the web? It's always handy for starters to be able to prove they've got some skills even before completing a project, and makes a good addition to any portfolio.

I know of Abadoss' Conceptual Music Competition. Anyone know of any more?

East West had a few a good while back but I honestly haven't kept track. I've also put two on in the past but have since taken a break as things got really busy and it takes an awful lot to coordinate a competition like that. I'd be open to doing another one if there's enough interest.

Thanks!

When it comes to game audio, G.A.N.G. has something to offer every year during GDC. I attended the demo derby 2009 which was fantastic. A panel of professionals gives their opinion about composers tracks for two hours. They also have the Student/Apprentice contest.

Good luck

Just come across this - it's a big one but, heck, aim high!
