Anyone here thought of believing in yourself for a change? It does work btw. These threads always lead nowhere and every forum I have read them on they go on and on and on.....................
An interesting though non-religious thought on this. What does it really mean to believe in oneself? Is it to believe in one's capabilities or rather to believe in one's existence? Usually in the case of a religious 'god' they kind of imply each other as they are often defined by their capabilities, but in the case of tangible objects the act of believing in something becomes more abstract. Kind of an interesting musing how the idea of 'belief' is more concrete for abstract objects than tangible ones.
1 - capability, you are are capable of doing something otherwise you wouldn't be on this forum, even your bible speaks that you have free will then that implies that what you do with your life is your own, nobody elses.
2 - existance, that is for historians, anyone ever heard of Copernicus or Einstein, your legacy is your existance, make it if you want, since this is a post on the Bible, your God won't bother making sure you are remembered, it's up to you to do that, otherwise your existance only means something to those whom have known you, nothing more.
Actually I'm agnostic, show me physical proof any God exists and I will follow her, him or it into Hades (which Christian hell is based off of), otherwise I will continue to improve myself irrelevant of any religious dogma whether or not I am remembered once I'm dead..
