This is probably the gazzilionth thread about a DNF release date, but according to an article on slashdot (http://games.slashdo...1/01/21/1419232), the Duke Nukem Forever release date has been set to May the third. Anyone looking forward to it? :D

Personally I'm a bit scared that it's too sudden.
I don't see why they don't push back the release date to whatever it is the Mayan calendar says the world is going to end.

Seems like good marketing to me.

It's time for the annual thread about Duke Nukem Forever. Except this time the game is genuinely going to be released.

I've seen the trailer and the game looks like a modern DN3D. Unfortunately the humour doesn't work for me so I'm not interested.

As a totally unrelated and utterly useless bit of trivia, I will now announce the fact that Mayan arithmetic was done in base 20.

Because December 23, 2012 is quite far yet (if I recall correctly the last day in the Mayan calendar was that, feel free to correct me).
Don't pay much attention to "the hedgehog" in my nick, it's just because "Sik" was already taken =/ By the way, Sik is pronounced like seek, not like sick.
For marketing reasons, I would have set the release date first to April 1st, 2011, then push it back again to April 1st, 2012. And THEN push it back to December 23, 2012.

Either way, it will likely sell millions of copies to people who don't even care about the game, but who just want the box.

Totally agreed. Cannot they just push it back another couple of months? You know, the gadget they included in the box is going to be declared illegal in 21.7 states around the world. This would be great.

Previously "Krohm"

Looks more interesting than the last 20 Halo games.

NBA2K, Madden, Maneater, Killing Floor, Sims

Duke Nukem 3D Remake Indie group actually got the green light to do this. I wonder how closely they are working with the Gearbox team.

Oh, hopefully I'm not derailing...

Please don't say that. I just want the damn thing already. I don't care if its not polished, as long as it will make me laugh like the old one.
