When you read 'lol', do you read it as 'el oh el', 'lol' (one word), or as 'laugh out loud'? Never got into the habit of typing it myself, so I don't what is going on in the minds of people who do, or how they expect it to be interpreted.

I remember once my dad and I were joking around and instead of laughing at one of his jokes I said, "laugh out loud," which was immediately followed by silence and shame.
