Has anyone seen it? If you haven't you better wait for it to be played on cable, say in 2 months.

It at least warns the audience that it is going to be a bad movie when they play 30 SECONDS TO MARS - KINGS AND QUEENS song out loud while the couple is going to meet "Turk".

For some moments it appeared to want to mean something with all the mind controlling thing and I was hoping all the alien thing would be just a symbolic way of stating some philosophical idea. Sadly, I was wrong.

The special effects, at least, are good.

Even then, most people probably have something better to do with their time than go anywhere near this movie. I'm probably the easiest moviegoer in the world to please, but even I thought this movie was bad. There's a reason you only see B-list actors. Special effects were great, but the plot was absolutely ridiculous and none of the characters were remotely intelligent or likable. Not to mention that the ending took it to a whole other level and I literally face-palmed, more than once.

I am really hoping it's better than the reviews say, it looks great from the trailer.

Trust Zipster. It is terribly awful.

It was pretty bad, but I enjoyed it. The aliens are pretty cool. The plot, meh.

My girlfriend didn't enjoy it, and she couldn't stand the main actors facial hair.
The movie was awful. The action during the movie was boring and pointless and I was holding out for a good ending. Nope. The ending was a disappointing and awful setup for the sequel.

Not even then! It sucked BADLY! I positively HATE movies like this. It had no ending! It left me with more questions than answers, and while it appears that they are leaving it open for a sequel, it has me so ticked off that I will not be seeing any sequel.

They lost me when the nuclear missile WENT INTO THE SHIP, exploded and the ship AND CREATURES not only survived temps and pressures nearly equal to the core of the sun, but REBUILT itself and continued on! What. The. Hell?!

So, yeah... It was a waste of money...

No, I am not a professional programmer. I'm just a hobbyist having fun...

The first trailers had me interested -- you know, the one that just showed the ships hovering over the city. Once they started showing footage with the "actors" "acting" I became completely disinterested.

Pretty much any television show or movie with the dude with the squirrelly facial hair in it can't be worth seeing. Dude looks like a slightly older, real-life Shaggy from Scooby Doo who spends most of his free time trying to lure third graders into his "mystery van".

Pass.

throw table_exception("(? ???)? ? ???");

I haven't seen it yet, but from Wikipedia they say that it cost them 10 mill to make the movie.

"On November 11, 2010, producer Brett Ratner said on the Opie and Anthony Show that the film cost $10M to make"

And the collection as of now, not including future DVD sales or TV/channel deals:

"As of November 30th the film had made $20,299,020 in the United States and $27,115,891 internationally for a worldwide total of $47,414,911"

Doesn't sound like how to burn 20 million dollars to me. In a matter of fact, they just got themselves promoted into money making producers/directors, although from now on script doctors will be hired instead.

No wonder they come to this conclusion:

"The Brothers Strause insist that they will film a sequel with their own money and try to find a distributor to release it"

Again, I'm not saying that the film is good or not, haven't watch it yet, just to point out on your forum title.

Still, I like what one of the critics says, that the film put alien invasion into something that is hopeless for us, putting us into the unknown. Remind me of Stephen Hawking's alien/us = white people/american Indian.
I watched it and found the ending to be quite satisfying actually. My only complaint about the movie is that it centres around people I absolutely don't care about, who literally had a front seat to the all the action. I also liked that the humans actually did have some kind of chance against these invaders, unlike in other movies where the aliens had impenetrable forcefields leaving humans utterly helpless.
