Hi All,
i was wondering what things you guys like about any game that would be realy
cool to have it/something like it in another game,
or a cool idea of a weapon/feature that would be nice to have.
<examples>
i like dead space's zero gravity section's,
crysis's non linear gameplay,
half life 2's gravity gun,
the way left4dead's zombies spawn at random places,
a flamethrouwer,

I really loved Legend of Mana's artwork, music and dialog writing. The game is pretty thin - more of a chore, really - but it's the only one I play on occassion just because I love the atmosphere and artwork. I actually bought it after judging it by it's cover, and that nicely sums up how I enjoy it.
In order of importance to me:
1.) Good playability. I want to come back and play it again after beating it. I want to want to finish the game the first time.
2.) Open game worlds. (i.e., Oblivion)
3.) Freedom to diverge from the main story line. (again, Oblivion)
4.) The ability to shut off guided help completely and not have to worry about it popping up every time I start a new game. (sadly, no game I am aware of has this feature)
5.) A good story.
WAAAYYY down at the bottom of the list...

Infinity.) Amazing graphics. I still love text adventure games. Graphics should supplement the game, not be the highlight of the game.

No, I am not a professional programmer. I'm just a hobbyist having fun...
I liked phantom dust's taking what was essentially a trading card game and making an actiony game out of it. But the story was pretty stupid.
I liked:
- Return To Castle Wolfenstein because of the Story, Weapons & Undead
- Diablo 2 because of the Huge amount of Items
- Half-Life because of the Story (seriously)
- Delta Force because of the Infinite Terrain
- Natural Selection because Aliens could run on Walls
- Starcraft 1/2 because of the Competitivness
- Warcraft 3 because of how it presented it's story
- Far Cry & Crysis because of the Graphics
- Brigandine: Legend of Forsena because it's the most awesome game out there

The ludicrously over the top action sequences in MW2 (The last section of the Hornets Nest mission when you have to run for the chopper in particular).

if you think programming is like sex, you probably haven't done much of either.-------------- - capn_midnight
I miss the original Bushido Blade's (a pre-SquareEnix Squaresoft title that wasn't an RPG and/or didn't suck) handling of sword combat with the realistic "one hit kills". It made the fights much more plodding and strategic, without making them long and boring.
