Bummer. I watched his TED talk online with great interest just a few days ago. This announcement seemed to have a greater impact on me as a result.

I've done a few Mandelbrot renderings.. It's amazing how simple the equation is and how much hidden complexity there lies..

Dissapointing that a guy like this is dead and nobody gives a fuck. I wasn't a fan of him, but at least I can realise his contribution to science.
