How do you prefer your mouse pointer speed?

Do you prefer your mouse pointer speed fast or slow?Personally I prefer it quite fast, other people using it are sometimes surprised. But I really can't stand it when my arm, instead of just my fingers, need to move to be able to reach every side of the screen. Or worse, needing to lift the mouse and put it back to be able to move accross the screen...I measured that the mouse needs to move 3cm to have the pointer go from left to right on the screen.On the other hand, I don't really seem to care about acceleration, other than the effect it has on speed.I think high speed might also be good against a mouse arm, because I never had that problem :)

I don't know my preferred speed, but whatever Macs do I hate. Apparently for some reason you cannot change it. On Windows and Linux the defaults feel comfortable enough. In FPS games I turn the sensitivity way up.
