I would like to write a simple card game more or less like Solitaire. Since I am more of a programmer and never an artist, I am quite clueless about where to start with the artistic stuff.
So can anyone teach me how to get to the graphic of the 54 cards. Is there any free liberaries for those cards. Or do I need to scan the 54 cards than manipulate them in Photoshop?
Would someone just shed some light on this to me? Thanks.

If you are making an opensource game there are probably opensource or sharealike cardsets you can use. You could research that by looking at existing opensource card games.
It is also quite easy to make a set of regular playing cards if you don't care about putting pictures on the king, queen, and jack. Anyone can draw a diamond, heart, club, and spade because they are simple geometric shapes, and the letters and numbers can simply be typed with the front tool in Photoshop, Gimp or a similar program. Some font sets even include card suit symbols. The cards themselves are just rectangles, usually white.
You cannot scan a commercial deck of cards and use the images, that is illegal.

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.
